Dr. Laura Ward is originally from Augusta, GA. Dr. Ward's path to veterinary medicine was shaped by her empathetic parents and a childhood full of animal rescues, everything from stray cats to injured wildlife. That early compassion blossomed into a lifelong calling.
Dr. Ward earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia and her DVM from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2013. She completed a rotating internship at BluePearl Veterinary Partners in NYC, and has since built a decade of experience in general practice and internal medicine at Heart of Brooklyn Veterinary Hospital and Gotham Veterinary Center.
She’s especially excited to join a team that values well-being, collaboration, and thoughtful patient care—and she’s looking forward to continuing her passion for internal medicine while exploring a new Brooklyn neighborhood!
Outside of work, Dr. Ward enjoys reading, karaoke, dancing, snowboarding, horror movies, and spending time outdoors. Though she’s not currently a pet parent, she lovingly shared nearly two decades with her two cats, Olivia and Miko.
